To successfully sustain the process of sheep
farming within an urban environment and to
meet the demands and pace of city life, an
increase is therefore required in the amount of
artificial intervention involved.
By reclaiming those interstitial and underutilized
spaces of the city Nottingham's Urban Sheep
Farm will provide the city with a constant supply
of lamb throughout the year, whilst engaging the
city residents in a dialogue that emphasis' and
reflects on repetitive and synthetic nature of
urban daily life.
A swathe of greenery physically links the farm
to the city, notionally acting as an umbilical cord,
drawing the people and excess energy of the
city into the farm, developing a new take on the
phase 'grow your own'.
